Job Description

I. Job Summary

The Director, Talent Acquisition – Corporate has responsibility as a player/coach contributor for leading, managing and delivering all recruitment services, for corporate functions at WM. The ideal candidate will have solid experience both as a successful leader of recruiting teams and as a hands-on recruiter for executive/senior leader level roles.

This leader will focus on monitoring and evaluating talent acquisition team members, processes and practices needed to deliver high quality talent to meet business timelines, with a specific lens on optimizing our candidate experience and performance metrics across the talent acquisition team.

Requires an innovative thinker with experience in executive recruiting/staffing to focus on growing/developing an inclusive and effective talent acquisition team that delivers high-quality candidates in time with business workforce requirements.

Location –Houston Hybrid - reporting into the office Monday – Thursday (with flexibility) or candidates outside of the Houston area who are open to regular travel to the headquarters office.

This position will report to the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead, coach and mentor the corporate talent acquisition team in building robust go to market recruitment strategies for sourcing highly sought after passive talent for professional roles. Embodies strong client focus and service, while delivering a high-touch candidate and hiring manager experience.
• Actively sources and directly recruits candidates for senior leadership position(s).
• Proactively focuses on building talent pipelines of engaged candidates for future opportunities and ensures this becomes a standard practice across the corporate talent acquisition team.
• Connects directly and regularly with business stakeholders to proactively plan for upcoming talent requirements and to review and assess talent acquisition delivery results.
• Drive productivity and efficiency of the corporate talent acquisition team by setting performance metrics, monitoring progress, and coaching to achieve results.
• Create a culture of accountability and performance by increasing operational efficiencies and measuring ongoing performance.
• Reports on effectiveness of recruiting/staffing initiatives by maintaining and analyzing performance metrics of recruiting/staffing activity (time in process and ratios to results).
• Identify and implement areas of operational enhancement and best practices relative to current Talent Acquisition processes, process flows, technology, and programs to drive consistent and outstanding levels of efficiency.
• Ensure the corporate recruiting team is embedding inclusion & diversity best practices and processes, into sourcing, interviewing, hiring processes and approaches, through coaching and mentoring.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with both clients and candidates, building trust and exceeding expectations.
• Collaborate, partner and align with the broader TA Leadership team and HR Centers of Excellence teams (including Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Technology, Learning and Leadership Development) to create, design and deliver talent solutions for both internal and external candidates.
• Mentor and coach a team of recruiters, fostering professional development and maximizing performance
• Understand compliant recruitment processes, staying up to date with changes laws and partnering with TA Leadership team and Legal team to ensure our practice remains fully compliant.

IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) Required or
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience Required
• 10+ years experience in progressive recruiting experience, with a focus on leading a corporate and/or staffing agency team of high performing recruiters that delivers unique sourcing and selection strategies to meet current and future talent requirements Required
• Demonstrated experience, both as an individual contributor and as leader of a team, in building sourcing strategies for consistently reaching passive candidates, providing an exceptional candidate experience, proactively driving the attraction and selection process and providing expert counsel to the hiring manager throughout the recruitment process. (in addition to education requirement) Required and
• Specific and current experience recruiting senior leader level roles directly while also leading a high performing team of recruiters
• Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural communication, diversity, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership/coaching, team-building and management skills
