QA Engineer - API Focus (1-Year Contract with Potential to Convert)
We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer - API Focus to join one of our key clients on a 1-year contract, with the potential for conversion to a permanent role. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, impactful projects in a dynamic Agile environment, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of API products.
About the Role:
As a QA Engineer with a focus on APIs, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts, ensuring the successful validation and implementation of system improvements. You’ll analyze requirements, recommend technical solutions, and play a critical role in enhancing the performance of key systems.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for API products.
• Test and integrate application components to validate system improvements in production.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into detailed, comprehensive test cases.
• Recommend process improvements and suggest technical alternatives to optimize performance.
• Provide leadership and guidance to other technical team members.
• Work in an Agile environment, following Scrum methodologies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing tools and frameworks.
What You Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in RESTful API services.
• Proven experience in supporting and implementing complex integration projects.
• Experience working within Agile frameworks and using version control systems like SVN or Bitbucket.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and a resourceful approach to gathering and sharing information.
Bonus Points For:
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with cloud-based technologies.
• Knowledge of the banking industry.
• Experience with test-driven development methodologies.
