Description
Role:
The Core Application Specialist is responsible for all items associated with the core application and for ensuring the credit union uses the core application to its fullest capabilities. This is accomplished by: testing and scheduling core updates, patches and enhancements; researching new interphases and third-party relationships, reviewing the core-chat users group and other groups for efficiency and usage ideas, and staying current with credit union core technology updates. This position will serve as a liaison between the core provider and management.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Schedules the loading, testing and provide training for core updates, patches and enhancements.
• Ensures that all open tickets with core partner are completed in a timely manner.
• Serves as a liaison between core partner and credit union ensuring credit union management is kept abreast of current and future developments.
• Completes yearly disaster recover testing with on core system.
• Attends webinars, local training events, and conferences related to the core.
• Researches third party connectivity relationships.
• Leads projects associated with the core.
• Observes branches' and department processes for process recommendation.
• Assumes responsibility for CCF changes to the core system.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years' experience working with core financial system.
• A high school education or GED required. Two year degree or technical certification(s) preferred.
• Strong prioritizing, organizational and planning skills
• Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
• Ability to manage projects through to completion.
• Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work regular full time hours.
• Ability to work irregular hours as necessary.
• Ability to work on-site at designated location.
• Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
• Must be bondable
Ergonomic Considerations:
• Must be able to view a computer screen, use a keyboard to enter information, and manipulate a mouse.
• Job includes some repetitive hand/wrist motions.
• Ability to operate office machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to talk and hear.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch and crawl for extended periods of time (6 to 7 hours per day).
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
