Responsibilities
• Work within a cross-functional team to design, develop and support multiple products.
• Evaluates user requests for development and modification of applications to determine feasibility, cost and time requirements, and system compatibility.
• Have a customer-focused mindset to create the best solutions for the user.
• Stay up to date on the latest advances and technologies. Share knowledge with others.
• Owns the support for the products and responds to incidents outside of normal working hours.
Skills & Requirements
• Solid, hands-on Android development experience, 3+ years
• Experience developing native Android apps using Kotlin
• Experience with Android Jetpack components
• Familiarity with Android UI best practices
• Familiarity with Android architectural patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM, etc.)
• Experience developing consumer-facing apps distributed through the Google Play store
• Practical knowledge of REST/JSON web services and event-driven design patterns
• Ability to solve complicated problems with robust solutions
• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical coworkers
• Hands on experience using UI design tools like Figma
• Experience with Android testing frameworks and unit testing
You must also have the following business skills:
• Enjoy working with others in a team atmosphere.
• Enjoy maintaining/enhancing code to meet changing customer and industry needs.
• Ability to think critically and work through problems while recommending code improvements to improve products.
• Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and composition.
• Ability to act independently and make minor decisions based on established procedures.
Additional Qualifications
Though not required, preferred candidates have experience with the following technologies:
• Experience building Android applications from scratch
• Practical experience with the Google Play Store distribution process, including certificate management, app signing, and publishing.
Travel
May have to travel a few times a year for onsite team events and training.
