Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Video Editor to join our cinematics team at Skydance New Media. In this role, you will support the creation of high-quality cinematics, in-game cinematics, trailers, promotional videos, and gameplay footage for our game releases. You will work closely with other members of the cinematics team to ensure that our games meet the cinematic standards set by our team. Your responsibilities will include organizing editorial projects, coordinating video reference selects, preparing video deliveries, and maintaining video production equipment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Proven experience in video editing and post-production, with a strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro
• Solid understanding of video compression formats, codecs, frame rates, and resolution standards for various media
• Excellent attention to detail, with a keen eye for visual composition, pacing, and storytelling
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Passion for video games and appreciation for the artistry involved in creating interactive experiences
Preferred:
• Previous experience in video game development or the gaming industry
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Autodesk Maya is a plus
• Familiarity with game capture software and hardware, such as OBS Studio or Elgato Game Capture
• Basic understanding of game development pipelines and processes
Benefits
The salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $75,000 – $105,000. The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonuses, benefits, etc.
