The Role

Lumen offers a fully immersive, 10-week summer internship program. Our interns demonstrate curiosity, innovation, and a passion for advancing technology. Program dates: May 30 – August 8, 2025.

Location
• This position will ideally be hybrid in our Downtown Denver, CO office, however open to fully remote for the right candidate.

The Main Responsibilities

The Finance Analyst Intern will support the NETS organization, encompassing Engineering, Technology, Product and Marketing. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in a wide array of financial activities targeting the management of operating and capital expense budgets. This role would suit a candidate who has experience and interest in finance, financial planning and analysis, or financial modeling and data analytics. Areas of focus would involve a mix of activities tailored to suit the right candidate in areas of forecasting, budgeting, budget planning, month-end reporting and variance analysis, financial modelling, reporting and process efficiencies, or Power BI and analytics automation. The intern will partner closely with the leadership team to provide insights and analysis for effective budget management.

Other responsibilities of the intern will include:
• Assist in managing OpEx and capital budgets for the Engineering, Technology, Product, and Marketing departments.
• Participate in regular forecast updates and the budgeting process, working closely with the business to understand requirements and financial drivers.
• Support the month-end process, ensuring accurate financial results and understanding variances to the budget.
• Provide guidance and support to the leadership team in managing their budgets.
• Contribute to the development of comprehensive Power BI reporting and streamlining reporting outputs.
• Creating or enhancing streamlined financial modelling and analytical outputs.
• Analyzing and re-designing core processes to streamline deliverables and increase actionable insights.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment of the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.

Required qualifications
• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship
• Graduating August 2025 – May 2027
• Preferred fields include but are not limited to: Finance, Data Analytics, or a similar background.
• Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 – August 8, 2025)
• US work authorization is required. Individuals needing visa sponsorship are not eligible.

Proficiency and understanding of:
• MS Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and business partnering abilities.
• Proficiency in Power BI is a plus but not required.
• Interest in financial analysis, FP&A, business partnering, and process efficiency.

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual’s level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range:
Min: $22.00/hour
Max: $35.00/hour
