Overview
We are seeking a part-time, spiritual, talented, passionate and visionary Music Director to lead our music program. The Music Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of worship/musical performances at Dumfries United Methodist Church (DUMC) in Dumfries Virginia.
Duties
– Selecting musical pieces for Sunday Morning Worship Services and seasonal services or programs
– Conducting regular rehearsals and seasonal performances
– Collaborating with musicians and singers
– Providing musical direction and guidance to singers and musicians
– Overseeing sound checks and technical aspects of performances
– Assistance with managing music budgets and resources
Skills
-Excellent communication skills to effectively convey musical ideas
-Leadership qualities to guide and inspire music staff and worshippers
-Experience producing and directing dedicated events, musicals, and programs
-Proficiency in various musical styles and genres
-Knowledge and experience with both traditional and contemporary worship practices
-Demonstrates competency in playing the organ/piano, vocal performance, and/or other instruments
