The Senior UX Designer solves complex problems with elegant, accessible solutions. This specific role will be working with a team to build an outstanding UX within a Business Process Management (BPM) system (Pega). They will lead the design process from initial research through wireframing, testing, and final handoff to Pega developers, ensuring that all designs are user-centered and technically feasible. In this role, the Senior UX Designer collaborates closely with development teams to align user insights with design outputs. They are responsible for conducting comprehensive user research, creating detailed wireframes, validating designs through iterative testing, and ensuring a seamless transition from design to development. Senior designers continuously push the boundaries for speed, quality, and innovation in design. They also leverage their experience with various BPM systems and UI (User Interface) kits to create scalable, user-friendly interfaces that meet business goals. User Interface Design (40%) · Design wireframes and prototypes: Create and iterate wireframes that align with user needs and business goals, focusing on working within the boundaries of BPM system requirements. Collaboration with Pega and other BPM developers: Work closely with developers to ensure that wireframes and prototypes are feasible and aligned with technical capabilities of Pega and other BPM systems. User flows: Determine and create user flows through software products, ensuring smooth and intuitive navigation. Responsive design: Utilize responsive design principles to ensure wireframes are adaptable across devices. UI Kits: Leverage existing UI kits and design systems to create cohesive and scalable wireframes. Experience with customizing and extending UI kits to fit specific project needs. Presentation: Present designs and rationales to stakeholders and executives, tying user needs and designs to business goals and objectives regarding revenue and cost. Tools: Proficiency in design tools like Figma and Adobe, focusing on wireframing and prototype creation. Problem-solving: Address challenges related to interface design with creative solutions. Feedback incorporation: Maintain an iterative mindset, open to feedback to refine wireframes and prototypes. Research & Testing (40%) Comprehensive User Research: Lead and conduct in-depth user research to uncover user pain points, motivations, and goals. This includes various research methods like interviews, surveys, contextual inquiries, and competitive analysis. Usability Testing: Plan, execute, and analyze usability tests on wireframes, prototypes, and live products. Use findings to inform design decisions and iteratively improve the user experience. User Personas & Journey Mapping: Develop detailed user personas and journey maps based on research findings. Utilize these tools to guide design decisions and ensure alignment with user needs and business goals. Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage quantitative data from analytics, A/B testing, and user behavior metrics to validate design hypotheses and prioritize features. Accessibility Testing: Ensure that all designs are accessible to users of varying abilities by incorporating accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) into the research and testing process. Conduct accessibility audits and testing to identify and resolve potential barriers. BPM Systems-Specific Research: Conduct targeted research within the context of BPM systems, understanding how users interact with these systems, identifying pain points, and opportunities for improvement. Prototyping for Validation: Create high-fidelity prototypes for key user interactions and workflows. Validate these prototypes through user testing to ensure they meet user needs and are feasible for development. Iterative Testing Process: Develop a structured, iterative testing process that allows for continuous feedback and improvement throughout the design cycle. Quickly adapt wireframes and prototypes based on user feedback. Documentation & Reporting: Document all research findings, usability test results, and recommendations. Create clear and concise reports that can be easily shared with stakeholders and development teams. Influencing Design with Research: Use research insights to actively influence the design direction, ensuring that user needs are at the forefront of all design decisions. Advocate for the user within cross-functional teams. Collaboration & Handoff to Development (20%) Handoff process: Work closely with Pega and other BPM developers to ensure a smooth transition from design to development. Communication: Clearly communicate design intent and specifications to developers, ensuring that user needs are met in the final product. Collaboration across teams: Engage with cross-functional teams, including product managers and stakeholders, to align project goals and deliverables.
