Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Property, the Renewable Energy Adjuster will handle complex renewable energy claims both locally and through the London Market. The candidate will assess major claims, conduct onsite, and desktop surveys for EML/PML work, re-valuations, and pre-risk/on-risk scenarios, and adjust claims as needed. They will utilize their technical expertise in renewable energy systems to develop solutions for client and market challenges in claims management and risk engineering or surveying.
Responsibilities include calculating and agreeing on claim settlements, preparing detailed reports, maintaining the claims database, and supporting overseas colleagues with renewable energy claims. Additionally, the role requires assisting in the development and delivery of white papers and reviewing emerging technologies related to energy claims and risk matters. This position is crucial for providing high-quality service to both internal and external customers, while ensuring that claims processes meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities
• Prepare case management plans and visits with Insurers, Reinsurers, and the Insured as well as claim sites.
• Prepare reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim, including policy analysis and liability, quantum and future actions.
• Instruct and direct experts both internally and externally such as engineers, risk consultants, forensic scientists and lawyers.
• Communicate regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communication.
• Develop working relationships with existing clients and helping to identify and plan approaches to new clients.
• Maintain and update files and records keeping fully up to date on any technical or legal changes which may have a bearing on a case.
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or awareness of SEC procedures.
• Identifying and developing business opportunities for self and team.
• Conduct both onsite and desktop surveys for EML/PML work, re-evaluations and pre-risk/on-risk scenarios.
• Work both externally and internally assessing major claims and adjusting where appropriate.
• Utilize technical expertise in renewable energy systems to develop solutions to client and market challenges in both claims and risk engineering/surveying.
• Calculate and agree on settlement of claims and preparing final and other reports.
• Assist in the development of reports and assist overseas colleagues in handling and reporting of renewable energy claims.
• Maintain the claims database and preparing data/slides for use in presentations.
• Assist in the development and delivery of white papers for the market as well as review of new and emerging technologies in relation to the handling of energy claims and risk matters.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant course of study preferred.
• 3+ years of experience adjusting renewable energy claims
• Experience of delivering renewable energy risk advisory and / or consulting services with a particular focus on wind, solar and BESS
• Driving and/or Travel Required: Position does require driving and/or travel for work-related assignments.
• Valid Driver's License Required: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Demonstrable expertise in handling complex renewable energy claims and root cause analysis.
• Familiar with majority of renewable energy systems.
• Have experience of the renewable energy sector technologies both existing and emerging markets
• Comprehensive knowledge of trends in renewable energy and sustainable development.
• Demonstrable experience as a pre-risk engineering surveyor
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong team working and collaboration.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
