Social Media Content Creator

Overview
Nassau Humane Society improves the lives of homeless animals in our community by providing them shelter and compassionate care. Our work focuses on adoption services, education about responsible pet ownership, and working to reduce animal overpopulation and homeless pets.

We’re seeking a creative and detail-orientated content creator to manage and execute our monthly social media content plan. It will involve creating engaging content that reflects our brand identity and promotes our adoption center, dog park and two resale stores. The role will also support campaigns for fundraising and volunteer recruitment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media trends and best practices, including paid ad campaigns, and has a passion for animal welfare. This role reports to the Marketing Communications Manager, is a flexible, part-time role (up to 15 hours per week) with the location a mixture of remote working and on-site.

Position Responsibilities

·Collaborate with the Marketing Communications Manager to understand the monthly social media strategy and objectives.

·Develop, gather and edit content for social media, including but not limited to Instagram and Facebook.

·Create visually appealing posts and reels that align with our branding and maintain the look and feel of our website.

·Highlight the adoption center, dog park and two resale stores through engaging storytelling and visual content.

·Schedule and publish posts according to content calendar, ensuring timely and consistent engagement with our audience.

·Stay up to date on social media trends and tools, proposing new ideas to enhance our online presence.

·Analyze performance metrics and provide insights to improve future content strategies.

Core Skills & Qualifications

·Proven experience in social media content creation and management, preferably for non-profits or animal welfare organizations.

·Strong photography and videography skills, with experience in editing software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Premiere or similar).

·Excellent copywriting and communication skills, with a knack for creating compelling messages and stories.

·Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting tools.

·Understanding of impactful marketing tactics.

·Motivated self-starter with great attitude, flexibility, and entrepreneurial spirit.

·Ability to balance working independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity, seeking thought partnership and guidance.

·Ability to work under pressure to prioritize and manage workload and manage simultaneous tasks within a fast-paced and changing environment.
