Brief Description:
This role will be responsible for co-developing and implementing a multi-year strategy that expands the capability and flexibility of working with external partners across the functional area organizations within GRADS.
This position will be responsible for directing under the supervision of sourcing leadership the activities in support of our current (and future) outsourced scope of work. Responsibilities will include managing processes and connections between the external partner and the various stakeholders with the GRADS functional areas and Procurement to ensure that we are efficiently and effectively delivering high quality regulatory submissions on time globally.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Build and manage with assistance from sourcing leadership the processes and facilitating the network of resources to support the partners’ ability to execute on sourced scope of work for the GRADS Functional areas.
• Manage the functional area’s sourced activities to support efficient, on-time execution of these submissions.
• Actively facilitate (with escalation as necessary) process issues related to the delivery of high-quality, on-time materials.
• Lead with assistance from sourcing leadership end-to-end process for sourcing within the functional area working with Procurement as appropriate. This includes proactively identifying sourcing needs, RFI/RFP, selection of vendors, solution ID workshops, transition, and training, working towards business as usual, while sustaining performance and compliance and ultimately continuously improving upon the existing processes.
• Direct and manage with assistance from sourcing leadership the operational and management governance for the functional areas with GRADS external partners to deliver on objectives and to support the partner's ability to execute on outsourced scope of work.
• Collaborate with the functional areas and external parties to ensure best possible delivery of sourced submission work through clearly defined objectives and actively managing and tracking overall performance (via metrics) of assigned vendors. This includes providing regular feedback to management on the performance of vendors, ensuring deliverables are met and performance issues are identified, managed, and rectified, and providing regular feedback to vendor management and internal teams on performance issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to ensure best possible delivery of sourced activities according to established KPIs from the functional areas.
• Provide regular feedback to the functional areas’ management on the performance of partners, ensuring deliverables are met and performance issues are identified, managed, and rectified, and providing regular feedback to partner management and internal teams on performance issues.
• Work towards developing a depth of expertise in regulatory intelligence, technologies, and innovations and their applicability to transforming the business model within the functional areas.
• Actively collaborate with and provide guidance to vendors to assure new capabilities and services are developed and existing capabilities and processes are assessed and improved (on an ongoing basis) and assuring consistent application of roles and processes across projects within the functional areas.
• Participate in the support annual business planning and the analysis and proposal of the annual financial plan for the functional areas related to external partner expenditures.
• Work towards serving as a key resource and expert for others in the company in various outsourcing models for various activities within the functional area that can build a flexible network that aligns with the overall GRADS business strategy for these functional areas.
• Anticipates roadblocks in the functional areas’ sourcing execution and work with sourcing leadership to directs the resolution of highly complex business problems to ensure these functional areas are contributing in the most efficient but compliant manner.
• Collaborates with GRADS Compliance as well as Quality to participate in audits and inspections as the SME from a functional area sourcing perspective during any audit or inspection.
• Works towards understanding and presenting complex functional area processes, anticipates potential objections (either internal to GRADS or with vendors), and with assistance from sourcing leadership, persuades others to adopt a different point of view if appropriate as part of overall ownership of the end-to-end process.
• Anticipates internal/external business and regulatory compliance issues for the functional areas and recommends process improvements/solutions in conjunction with the GRADS Compliance organization.
