Position: Full-Time Medical Doctor (MD/DO) with Level 2 Certification in Occupational Medicine
Overview:
AFC Urgent Care Denver is seeking passionate and experienced Family Practice or ER physicians dedicated to patient care. We are currently hiring a Full-Time Medical Doctor (MD/DO) with Level 2 Certification in Occupational Medicine. Enjoy practicing medicine without the administrative burden of managing office systems and billing. Our compensation includes a competitive base salary and a robust bonus structure.
Pay Range: $233,000-$376,000, with a competitive bonus structure based on performance, including shift differentials for weekend work. The first 3 months offer 100% of bonus achievement.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive work-related injury and illness evaluations.
• Perform physical exams for DOT, pre-employment, return-to-work, and annual exams.
• Develop and implement treatment plans following occupational safety and health guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, Workers' Compensation regulations, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Coordinate follow-up care, including referrals to specialists and work restrictions as needed.
• Provide injury prevention education and wellness programs for employees and employers.
• Collaborate with employers to create customized workplace health programs, including screenings and immunizations.
• Act as a liaison between employers, employees, and case managers for smooth return-to-work transitions.
• Perform Impairment Ratings to document the degree of permanent impairment from work-related injuries or illnesses.
Qualifications:
1. Medical Degree and Licensure:
• A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree is required, or sometimes a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) credential.
• A valid and unrestricted medical license in the state where the provider practices.
2. Basic Occupational Medicine Training:
• Completion of Level 1 Occupational Medicine training or an equivalent introductory course, which provides foundational knowledge in workplace health, injury management, and regulations such as OSHA and Workers' Compensation.
3. Level 2 Occupational Medicine Course:
• Should be Level 2 Occ Med certified, which focuses on advanced topics like ergonomics, toxicology, hazard recognition, and workplace health interventions.
• This training often includes advanced diagnostic and treatment protocols for work-related injuries, return-to-work guidelines, and case management.
4. Experience in Occupational Medicine:
• Demonstrated experience managing work-related injuries, illnesses, and regulatory compliance issues.
• A minimum number of hours or years of clinical experience in occupational medicine (usually required by certification bodies).
5. DOT Medical Examiner Certification:
• Providers must obtain DOT certification to conduct Department of Transportation physicals, ensuring that commercial drivers meet federal health standards.
6. Compliance Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of federal and state regulations, including OSHA, DOT, and Workers' Compensation laws.
• Familiarity with drug and alcohol testing protocols.
7. Continuing Medical Education (CME):
• Completion of continuing education courses in occupational health topics, ensuring ongoing knowledge of the latest practices, guidelines, and regulations in the field.
8. Immunization and Screening Proficiency:
• Ability to administer workplace screenings, vaccinations, and drug/alcohol testing protocols.
