Main Purpose Of The Job
The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, perform repairs, maintenance and installations of all energy sources, boilers, ammonia systems, coolers, air compressors, HVAC systems and apparatus, equipment and machinery, as well as, fabricate and modify parts in accordance with blueprints, drawings, plans and schematics for various types of production equipment according to a set schedule and in emergency and non- emergency situations observing all safety regulations and ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process.
Role And Activity
• Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.
• Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear and perform a safety check on equipment to be used in the daily operations and insure that all safety devices are functioning properly.
• Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment involving ammonia and other refrigerants.
• Perform daily check of all refrigeration systems as required.
• Replace, repair and maintain all energy systems, boilers, ammonia systems, coolers, compressors, HVAC systems and apparatus.
• Clean evaporators and condensers as scheduled, change recorder charts and maintain recording equipment.
• Change and clean filters and accurately maintain refrigerant log.
• Monitor, repair, clean plant systems, water condensers, evaporators, dump traps, accumulators, sight glasses, filtration systems, etc.
• Requisition parts and supplies, perform routine welding, preventative maintenance tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Lubricate motors pumps and bearings, change oil in pumps, gearboxes and compressors.
• Change gaskets, install filter bags, check crankcase heaters, strainers, pressure regulators, bleed lines and perform quality checks.
• Perform basic welding as well as, read blueprints, drawing and plans.
• Read work orders, blueprints, drawings and plans, perform installations, fabrications and maintain the maintenance log book
• Inspect work and work area, perform clean-up using proper tools and equipment and according to approved methods and procedures.
• Maintain PSM/RMP program.
• Monitor waste water treatment area.
• Complete other related duties as assigned or directed by the Supervisor.

Position Qualifications
• 18 years of age or older
• Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills
• Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
