Job Description

Proto’s mission is to accelerate the transition to a more open, equitable global economy. We believe open protocols like Bitcoin are integral to achieving that vision. The team’s first two initiatives—mining tools and a self-custody wallet, Bitkey—aim to decentralize access for builders, increase network resiliency, and make everyday use of bitcoin safe and easy. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Front-End Engineer to join our team. The team spans a broad spectrum of front-end development, from foundational front-end architecture, design systems, and analytics pipelines to the building blocks that power our services and content management systems. You will work closely with your peers in design and marketing to brainstorm and implement creative solutions that align with our team goals and strategy.

You Will:
• Bring experience and knowledge to the team and advance the web discipline at Proto
• Design, build, and own design systems and content management system integrations
• Contribute to systems and standards for our marketing platforms across all product lines within Proto (e.g., our web CMS, email marketing platforms, etc.)
• Help define and implement our analytics and experimentation architecture
• Work collaboratively across multiple teams to ship remarkable solutions on a fast-paced team that operates like a startup within a larger company
• Evaluate and document engineering standards and patterns.

Qualifications

You Have:
• BS in Computer Science or a related technical field and/or 8+ years of relevant work experience
• A strong depth and breadth of experience crafting and shipping holistic web applications
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries e.g., React, NextJS, Vue, Svelte
• Experience crafting fluid layouts and animations with modern frameworks/libraries e.g. CSS, Tailwind, Framer Motion, GSAP
• Experience implementing client side analytics
• An understanding of web standards, browser performance, SEO optimization, and basic UX/UI principles
• A history of collaboration with non-technical team members
• Skills to work on complex problems with any audience in verbal, visual, or written formats

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $198,000 - USD $297,000

Zone B: USD $188,100 - USD $282,100

Zone C: USD $178,200 - USD $267,400

Zone D: USD $168,300 - USD $252,500
