The Associate Scientific Director, Strategy, reporting to the SVP, Educational Strategy, is responsible for developing the overall scientific strategy for their assigned specialty area (Oncology/Hematology), conducting needs assessments and gap analyses to determine healthcare professionals’ areas of greatest educational need.
Responsibilities Include:
• Support Educational Strategists in grant development to secure funding for programs.
• Achieve annual grant support goals and objectives that meet or surpass industry-standard win rates.
• Develop high-quality needs assessments that are scientifically and clinically accurate, to identify clinical gaps in healthcare that justify comprehensive education grant proposals.
• Integrate knowledge of ongoing research and development, pipeline for potential supporters of education, supporter funding interests, current patient management, and best patient management practice to develop a refined funding opportunity through grant conception and development.
• Work with Educational Strategists and VP/SVP, Educational Strategy to align ideal educational format (online or live programs) to the educational need/gap to achieve optimal outcomes assessment.
• Support a culture of teamwork, innovation, and commitment to the company’s mission.
Requirements Include:
• 3-5 years of experience developing grants at a continuing medical education company and/or experience writing, developing, and editing medical education activities at a continuing medical company.Oncology/Hematology experience strongly preferred.Ability to travel 2-3 times a year to US locations for in-person Team meetings, training, and strategic planning.
• Strong knowledge of Internet-based educational program models.
• Ability to work independently with effective time management, organization, project management skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage diverse tasks to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
• Working knowledge of the ACCME, ACPE, ANCC, and other regulatory agencies’ guidelines and policies in relation to commercially supported educational activities.
• Excellent presentation, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Exemplary skill in working effectively on interdisciplinary teams in decentralized work environments.
• Self-motivated and proactive; effective decision making and judgment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and a resourceful, “can-do” attitude.
