Assists assigned program office staff to develop, publish and enforce policies, procedures and guidelines for administration of Data Collection, Reporting and Analysis Systems:
• Assists with ensuring policies and guidelines align with the Office’s and the Department’s long term goals and strategies;
• Assists in the design, development and maintenance of the data dictionary;
• Develops standards for new and existing data (e.g., complete and accurate definitions) consistent with state and federal legislation;
• Gathers requirements to determine changes (e.g., data elements, data options, file layouts, definitions, business rules) for ODE data systems as needed;
• Ensures adherence to documentation criteria for reports and derived data.
Collaborates with assigned program office staff in developing new data elements and definitions to ensure database administration standards for database models and metadata are followed:
• Provides input and subject matter expertise in design and development of databases for assigned program office;
• Assists in developing and maintaining archive policies for data elements and documentation;
• Provides technical assistance to office and school district staff to ensure appropriate collection and use of data;
• Assists other information technology professionals.
Serves as the data manager for assigned program office:
• Provides the input from assigned program office during the development of enterprise-wide and federal information strategies;
• Conducts research and assists with resolution of complex data issues;
• Provides access to data with context for decision making;
• Analyzes data and prepares reports for performance measurement;
• Assists staff with data access and manipulation.
