We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Data Science Research and Development to lead innovative projects in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Key Responsibilities:
Lead R&D efforts in data science, AI, and ML.
Design and architect scalable data science solutions for commercial applications.
Mentor and guide team members to develop sustainable products in data science and AI.
Automate data science processes, including data cleaning, validation, and model deployment.
Support business development initiatives related to AI and ML services.
Identify opportunities for product improvement and new features.
Write proposals for government funding opportunities.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in data science or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in developing customer-facing AI or ML applications, preferably in defense, aerospace, energy, or transportation.
Hands-on experience with AI/ML methodologies, such as computer vision or predictive maintenance.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Proficient in at least one programming language for data science (e.g., Python, R) and familiar with distributed data platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Education:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
Desirable Experience:
Previous military or DoD experience is a plus.
Relevant scholarly publications or patents.
Other Requirements:
US citizenship is required due to contractual obligations.
Ability to pass a security clearance screening.
