Family owned insurance agency is seeking a Insurance Assistant to support their growing business. This position will be responsible for providing timely and professional day-to-day support services working closely with the Account Managers and carrier underwriters. You will gather and input data into the agency management system and provide assistance with various tasks and processes relative to new and renewal accounts.
This position is Full-Time in office .
Duties and Responsibilities
Creates and maintains client files in accordance with office procedures.
Prepares ID cards, certificates of insurance, Accord applications, binders and cancellations under the direction of more senior-level staff.
Learns to compile data for the Account Management Team to use in proposals and coverage checklists. May also assist in preparing proposals.
Verifies that documentation (policies and endorsements,) and the information requested are accurate.
Learns to perform policy checks, audit checks, and the process for completing coverage checklists and coverage recommendation letters (under the direction of senior-level staff).
May be the first line of answering billing questions from clients and insurance company personnel with assistance from the Accounting Dept. when necessary.
Verifies the accuracy and compliance of requested documentation (policies and endorsements).
Process premium and non-premium endorsements and follow up with carriers for outstanding policies, endorsements, corrections, etc.
Manage the daily account management of an assigned book of business, including invoicing, premium breakdowns, policy changes, review of policy forms, providing coverage comparisons, and responding to policy questions.
Build successful relationships with clients, and carriers to improve client retention.
Support the renewal process for all assigned and prospective clients with the Account Manager including ordering updated loss information, obtaining updated information, handling renewal applications, renewal marketing, reviewing and facilitating the renewal pricing including preparing the renewal proposal, and binders.
Follow agency guidelines, policies, and procedures
Qualifications Required:
Bachelors Degree
Valid New Jersey Property & Casualty License (Preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Ability to consistently process transactions accurately.
Familiar with Applied Epic
Competent in use of Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
