Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to inspire young students through music education. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of music theory, instrumental proficiency, and the ability to lead school music performances. This individual will engage students from various age groups (JK-8) in a dynamic and creative learning environment, fostering a lifelong appreciation for music.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum for elementary students that aligns with school standards and goals.
• Teach fundamental music concepts such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and dynamics to students of varying abilities.
• Introduce students to a variety of musical genres and instruments, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for musical exploration.
• Instruct students in singing, instrumental techniques, and music literacy.
• Plan and lead school performances, concerts, and music assemblies, coordinating with other staff and parents to ensure successful events.
• Encourage student participation in extracurricular music opportunities such as choir, band, or after-school music clubs.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual musical growth.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into other subjects and school events.
• Maintain and care for school-owned musical instruments and equipment.
• Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and self-expression.

Requirements:

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
• General understanding of music theory, vocal techniques, and instrumental proficiency (keyboard, guitar, recorder, or other classroom instruments).
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational or extracurricular setting.
• Ability to plan and execute school-wide performances and events.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Passion for fostering a love of music in young learners.

Skills and Competencies:
• Creativity and enthusiasm for making music education fun and accessible to all students.
• Ability to engage students of different ages and skill levels, adapting instruction as needed.
• Leadership and teamwork abilities for organizing and conducting school performances.
• Patience and empathy, with the ability to motivate and inspire young musicians.
• Strong organizational skills to manage class schedules, rehearsals, and events.

Work Environment:
• Full-time position.
• Interaction with students from junior kindergarten through 8th grade, teachers, staff, and parents.
