The role of Technical Designer will be responsible for managing any construction improvements and will work closely with technical design partners, design and product development to collectively make great quality active apparel. There is opportunity for additional breadth of responsibilities in this role as we continue to grow as a brand.
Manage/Maintain all specs and grades from initial set up through production (proto's, PPs, Size Sets, TOPs) in Excel
Establishes and maintains fit, construction standards and blocks to ensure fit consistency and quality.
Experience with reading and correcting patterns either through software or via other methods (taking photos, drawing on patterns, etc.)
Understanding and knowledge of grading, support and participate in grading projects.
Works to improve fit and quality through review of customers comments, sales feedback, and understanding of competition.
Comfortable with working on variety of categories (knit, woven, performance, or lifestyle)
Strong understanding fabrications and how they react with silhouettes.
Is a team player, able to work closely with other team members to help manage overall workload with regards to construction, fit, approvals, comments, timelines, etc.
Responsible for providing all product related fit details for catalog / website.
Degree in tech design, patternmaking, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
5+ years' experience working in a technical design role
Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with cross functional teams (design, development, merch and production)
Must have experience communicating with vendors overseas.
Must be able to work proficiently in Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator
Knowledge of computer patternmaking is preferred (example: Gerber, 3D V-Stitcher / Browzswear)
Knowledge of PLM is a plus
