Join Our Team as the Vice President of Finance at a Leading Media and Entertainment Organization
Overview
As the Vice President of Finance at our renowned media and entertainment organization, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the Finance Team, working directly under the guidance of the CFO. Within our diverse business, including the production of live events such as the Tribeca Festival, the acclaimed original content studio Tribeca Studios, and our recently acquired production studio, your responsibilities will involve collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial data. This data is imperative for well-informed decision-making throughout the organization.
About You
We are seeking an exceptionally organized and articulate individual with a keen eye for detail. Ideal candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional presentation abilities, and a collaborative approach towards teamwork within a dynamic environment. Flexibility to support colleagues during peak periods is a key quality we value.
Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and oversee supporting schedules, including detailed variance analysis against budget, commission and interest expense calculations, depreciation and goodwill expense calculations, and various monthly accruals.
• Review and post journal entries across all entities.
• Manage cash flow, overseeing payables/receivables and projecting monthly/weekly balances based on revenue and expense commitments.
• Lead annual audit processes.
• Track revenue and expenses across all business segments, including Festival, year-round events, gaming and immersive experiences, and distribution.
• Prepare quarterly royalty calculations, filmmaker accounting statements, oversee monthly royalty accruals, and update distribution projections.
• Provide weekly pipeline updates and year-over-year comparisons.
• Manage accounts receivable for the production studio.
• Ensure adherence to robust internal control practices.
Requirements
• 8-10 years of experience in finance and accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience with Association of Independent Commercial Producers and production accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects seamlessly.
Compensation
$130,000-$170,000
