JOB DESCRIPTION:
Experienced Web Designer-Senior, specialized to ensure the accessibility and compliance of the Cabinet's website. The position will be responsible for overseeing, implementing, and maintaining content, ensuring ADA and Section 508 compliance standards, ensuring that our digital platforms are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. The position will play a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive digital environment by ensuring the Cabinet's website meets or exceeds accessibility standards. The position needs to be dynamic and detail-oriented to assist in managing and curating content for both our internet and intranet platforms, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and alignment with our Cabinet's objectives. The position will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity, relevance, and consistency of our online content presence. The position requires a proactive approach to content management, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to upholding high-quality standards across platforms.
JOB DUTIES:
• Develop comprehensive training materials on ADA/508/WCAG compliance standards.
• Conduct training sessions for staff, editors, site managers to promote awareness and understanding of accessibility requirements.
• Monitor, evaluate, and maintain the company website's adherence to ADA, Section 508, and WCAG standards.
• Perform regular audits and assessments to identify accessibility issues and work with departments to implement corrective measures promptly.
• Enforce retention and compliance mandates and policies.
• Oversee activities related to content, pages, and resources.
• Stay up to date with evolving ADA/508/WCAG compliance regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Advise on necessary adjustments or updates to ensure continuous compliance with evolving standards.
• Collaborate with departments or teams to address areas of non-compliance and guide them in achieving continuity, content, accessibility standards.
• Provide expert guidance and support to teams working on web content creation and development.
• Collaborate with various departments to oversee and ensure that content is current, relevant, and aligns with organizational goals.
• Act as the primary point of contact for content-related inquiries and guidance across departments.
• Participate in site template design efforts, ensuring content integration aligns with design guidelines.
• Approve content for publication, ensuring it meets established quality and style standards.
• Maintain and update the website style guide and other relevant documentation to ensure consistency across platforms.
• Develop, update, and enforce content-related policies and guidelines.
• Conduct routine audits of webpages to verify accuracy, relevance, and adherence to established standards.
• Analyze and interpret web analytics reports to make data-driven decisions for website enhancements and content optimizations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience (5 years) in content management, website administration, or similar role.
• 5 years experience Administering Microsoft SharePoint Platform.
• In-depth knowledge of WCAG guidelines, ADA Title III, and Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Strong understanding of web design principles, content management systems, and best practices.
• Proficiency in analytical tools and the ability to interpret data to make informed content decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on maintaining accuracy and quality in content.
• Experience in conducting accessibility audits and familiarity with accessibility testing tools.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and guide teams toward compliance.
