Overview
The AI Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and implementing AI/ML Platform solutions that enhance our internal corporate services, client facing applications, and improve our customer experiences.
Responsibilities
Platform Design & Development
• Lead the design and development of end-to-end platforms that support AI/ML/Software solutions, ensuring the delivery of efficient, maintainable, and well-documented Python code.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of version control (e.g., Git) and automation for testing, building, and deploying code across environments.
• Familiarity with Docker for creating containerized applications that streamline deployments
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs for serving AI models and working with microservices architecture to support AI services
Data Engineering
• Working experience with tools like Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, or Google Dataflow for orchestrating data workflows
• Working experience with tools like Databricks or Snowflake for data processing and management, and vector databases such as Pinecone for AI-driven similarity search, along with familiarity in using traditional relational and NoSQL databases to support AI workflows and deployments
• Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large datasets
AI & ML
• Built solutions using Industry standard AI Models using both Chat and Inference APIs
• Working knowledge of patterns like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), addressing issues like hallucinations and bias, and leveraging prompt engineering for optimal model performance
• Train, validate, and fine-tune AI models using state-of-the-art techniques and libraries, and assess their performance using appropriate metrics
• Strong understanding of DevOps or MLOps practices for automating the AI lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems, and building scalable infrastructure for AI solutions
• Design, develop, and implement machine learning and deep learning models to address various challenges and build out AI functionality for our clients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software developers, and business analysts, to drive AI initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field - Required
• 5 years of experience in Developing Software Solutions.
• 2 years of experience in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
• 2 years of experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
• 1 year of proficient experience in packages like of LangChain, PyTorch, Tensorflow, LlamaIndex to build and interact with Language models

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $106,000 - $175,000. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
