We are hiring a translator and reviewer specialized in translating trading, finance, crypto, legal, and cover various content types i.e. emails (comms, newsletters, customer service), advertising and creative copy, UX copy, reports, web articles and educational courses.

A. Translation competence: able to translate content in accordance with translator role; able to address the problems of language content comprehension and language content production; able to render the target language content in according with customer agreement and other project specifications
B. Linguistic and textual competence in the source and the target language: able to understand the source language, fluency in the target language, and general or specialized knowledge of text-type conventions
C. Competence in research, information acquisition, and processing: able to efficiently acquire the additional linguistic and specialized knowledge necessary to understand the source language content and to produce target content
D. Cultural competence: behavioral standards, up-to-date terminology, value systems, locales that characterize source and target language cultures
E. Technical competence: knowledge, abilities, and skills required to perform tasks in the translation process by employing technical resources including the tools and IT systems
F. Domain competence: able to understand content produced in the source language and to reproduce it in the target language using the appropriate style and terminology
G. Revision/review experience in the domain: bilingual examination of target language content against source language content for its correctness, accuracy, suitability
Job Functions
- Familiarizing with reference material
- Adhering to linguistic assets, such as Style Guides, glossaries, translation memory, and other available assets
- Timely confirming availability and capacity for our projects/tasks
- Performing assigned tasks in our TMS/CAT tool platform (CrowdIn)
- Communicating with the localization team, raising queries, escalating issues and opportunities for improvement, flagging any potential impact on the delivery in a timely manner
- Proofreading the translated segment for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy, performing full Quality Assurance ensuring translations are error free prior to confirming in CAT
- Ensuring placeholders and tags are placed in the correct place of the segment
- Delivering the translation on time per allocated deadlines and turnaround SLA
- Evaluating and responding to feedback and questions from the localisation team, rectifying quality non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
Proofreading/review - includes the description of translation plus
- Thorough review and auditing of the translation, logging the corresponding error types and commentary in the CAT tool
- Resolving pending comments; taking accountability for the received feedback after Language Quality Audit, in-house translator team and working with the localisation team to rectify quality non-conformances and implement corrective actions
- Ensuring adherence to language assets
These SLA terms and definitions are based on our LQMS and adopted the translation service requirements of ISO 17100:
- TMS/CAT tool: responsible for human quality output; perform tasks in the CAT Tool (CrowdIn) using the translation memory, allocated glossary, style guide, query management features and QA check plugins
- Deadlines, turnaround and schedule
- On-time delivery (OTD): Commits to 98% delivery on time, based on a pre-agreed delivery deadline/turnaround time
- Commit to responding to tasks and inquiries from the localization team, communicating their availability via Translator Calendar and in response to project inquiries
Translation:
- The translator shall translate in accordance with the purpose of the project including the linguistic conventions of the target language/project specifications
- Compliance with specific domain, client terminology and other reference
- Material provided and ensuring terminological consistency during translation
- Semantic accuracy of the target language content
- Appropriate syntax, spelling, punctuation, diacritical marks, and other orthographic conventions of the target language
- Lexical cohesion and phraseology
- Compliance with any proprietary and customer style guide
- Locale/any applicable standards
- Target audience and purpose of the target language content
Requirements:
Native English plus one other language
ISO 17100 certification or one of the following:
1 Language degree
2 Non-language degree, 2+ years translation experience
3 No degree, 5+ years translation experience
