Title: General Cleaner Day porter (Custodian)
Rate:$9.50
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 7 am - 3:30 pm or 11 am - 5 pm
Location: Burlington, NC
Requirements:1-year commercial cleaning experience is a plus
Position Summary: This is a full-time position that works daytime hours. This job keeps the premises of office buildings, or other commercial or institutional buildings in clean, safe, and orderly condition by performing the essential duties and responsibilities. Also, includes responding to customer-specific needs and requests in a timely fashion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include any or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Patrols: restrooms, hallways, lobbies, elevators, break rooms, and other work areas for any cleaning or stocking needed.
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums any areas only open during the day.
- Spot clean walls, windows, water fountains, door panels, ledges, and sills.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Respond to any cleaning emergencies during the day.
- Assists in the completion of the workload in the absence of other employees.
- Assists in project cleaning of buildings which includes lifting and removing furniture from rooms, cleaning blinds, light fixtures/shields, washing walls, windows, doors, and furniture.
- Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays, transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
- Set up tables and chairs in the auditorium or conference room.
- Replenishes paper and soap products in bathrooms, cleans mirrors, and toilets.
- Reports any malfunctions and maintenance problems to the supervisor. Discusses work problems and/or schedule problems with supervisors and/or management.
- Provides assistance with outside cleaning chores, sweeping sidewalks, and picking up trash.
- May be required to lock and/or unlock doors at the appropriate times daily.
- Attends training meetings and sessions as directed.
