The Software Engineer V will work with technical teams to create software solutions that use prevailing technologies and improve the customers’ experience while adhering to business and technical requirements. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement software systems designed to support business initiatives.
WHAT OUR SOFTWARE ENGINEER V'S ENJOY MOST
• Keeping up with the latest Apple development frameworks.
• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Design and implement new functionality that is testable and performant with no oversight or guidance. Scale own software with some oversight.
• Understand how code is deployed E2E including monitoring and alerting.
• Serve as subject matter expert for own code base.
• Influence design and implementation of dependent systems, e.g., up/downstream APIs, clients, data stores, CI/CD Pipelines.
• Apply industry standards and technologies to Charter projects.
• Develop and maintain coding standards and best practices.
• Understand and apply different SDLC processes, particularly Agile and Scrum; participates fully in Scrum rituals.
• Participate in the design and review of legal, regulatory, process, and security compliance of their application.
• May develop software with no assistance to overcome roadblocks.
• Triage escaped defects and participates in RCA activities.
• Resolve system integration issues.
• Triage critical production issues and manage hotfixes for those defects.
• Provides LOE on multiple interconnected projects / features or an Epic level.
• Responsible for technical requirements and overall technical design documentation.
• Cut release branches and provides deployment artifacts to operations.
• Enforce usage of approved code patterns and best practices across their application domain.
• Work on performance tuning and re-factoring of applications.
• Collaborate with other groups in the organization like architecture, testing, operations, DBAs, and data center teams to identify and solve technical problems.
• Mentor Software Developers I-IV.
• Participate in candidate interviews.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
• Experience:
• Database management systems – 3+ years
• Coding, testing and designing software – 3+ years
• Software development methodologies – 3+ years
• Education:
• BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in one major programming language/tool
• Proficient in coding language and syntax, usage of functions and object-oriented patterns
• Proficient in Environments, docker images, container runtimes, and cloud native app development
• Proficient in dependent systems, e.g., up/downstream APIs, clients, data stores
• Proficient in design patterns and software architecture patterns
• Experienced in applying appropriate software design patterns to the situation
• Skills:
• Possesses demonstrated understanding of code organization of applications and ensures code is written in optimal location
• Demonstrates discretion and judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Showcases multiple interconnected projects / features or an Epic to senior technical leadership and the business Demonstrated negotiation skills
• Abilities:
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways
• Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

• Preferred Experience/Skills
• Deep knowledge of the Swift programming language.
• Strong grasp of key apple development frameworks. Including UIKit, SwitUI, AVFoundation.
• Work with HLS and related streaming technologies.
• User interface development on iPhone/iPad and AppleTV devices.
