Overview:
Augmentjobs is seeking a Junior Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support the actuarial department by performing tasks related to data analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment. This role is perfect for someone with a solid foundation in actuarial science and a passion for applying analytical skills to solve complex problems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Data Analysis & Management: Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets to support actuarial modeling and financial projections.
• Modeling & Forecasting: Assist in developing and maintaining actuarial models to forecast liabilities, premiums, and risk exposures.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations that summarize key findings and support decision-making within the actuarial team and across other departments.
• Risk Assessment: Contribute to the evaluation and quantification of risks related to various insurance products, pensions, and other financial services.
• Collaboration: Work closely with senior actuaries, underwriters, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and relevance of models and data.
• Compliance: Ensure all actuarial work complies with industry regulations and company standards.
• Professional Development: Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in actuarial methodologies by pursuing continued education and relevant certifications.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in an actuarial or analytical role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., SAS, R, Prophet, or equivalent).
• Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and VBA.
• Experience with data management tools and database querying (e.g., SQL).
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Certifications: Passing grades on at least two actuarial exams from recognized professional bodies (e.g., SOA, CAS) is preferred.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating collaboration and adaptability.
