Job Description:

As a Mainframe Developer Programmer Analyst (Level 3), you will be an experienced, highly skilled programmer proficient in the Natural programming language with extensive mainframe system experience. Your role will involve providing support for development, architecture, and overall mainframe operations. You will work collaboratively with both business and IT teams to deliver technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth system functionality.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design & Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe Natural programs and JCL to meet project and operational needs.
• Project Participation:
• Work as part of project and operations teams, contributing to analysis, design, and documentation in collaboration with business and technical teams.
• Change Control:
• Follow defined change control processes and procedures for application modifications and enhancements.
• Requirements Translation:
• Interface with both business and IT teams to understand business needs, translating them into technical specifications and application code.
• Automation Identification:
• Collaborate with application users to identify opportunities for automating manual processes through data integration between mainframe and external (non-mainframe) systems.
• Support Collaboration:
• Work with IT support teams to ensure that project requirements and operational support are successfully developed and implemented.
• Testing:
• Develop and execute unit and system test plans to validate that application changes meet the necessary technical specifications.
• System Development Life Cycle:
• Manage the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from design to implementation.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
• Participate in the creation and execution of test plans and test activities, ensuring that new programs meet business requirements.
• Review documentation and perform quality assurance to ensure compliance with program standards.
• Work Schedule:
• Maintain a reliable and predictable work schedule. There may be times when work outside of normal business hours is required to sustain operations or complete urgent assignments.
• Other Duties:
• Perform other tasks as assigned to maintain overall IT operations.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Natural Developer with strong proficiency in the Natural programming language.
• In-depth understanding and extensive experience with mainframe systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Experience with JCL (Job Control Language).
• Experience working through all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with change control processes.
• Ability to collaborate with both business and IT teams to meet project and operational requirements.
• Experience with test plan development and quality assurance processes.
