The Software Application Administrator maintains license manager servers, oversees license renewals, assists with software procurement, and conducts vender support sessions. They also assist support technicians with tickets that require access to license manager servers. The position is hybrid. U.S. citizenship required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain License Manager servers
• License Manager installations
• User/group management
• License Manager upgrades
• Apply software patches as needed
• Assist Procurement with new software and/or licenses
• Manage software license renewals
• Facilitate vendor support sessions to resolve issues
• Support Service Desk with software ticket escalations
• Administer software version upgrades
Other Job Functions
Get training (as needed) to support software
• Work closely with IT Manager to provide guidance
• Document processes for departmental SOPs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• U.S. citizenship required
• 2-year Computer Science (or related) degree
• Equivalent experience will be considered
• PDM Administrator experience is preferred
• SQL Administration is a plus but not required
WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position is hybrid, so while much of the work may be done remotely, there will be an occasional need for in-office support at our Birmingham, AL location. It requires performing work at a computer for extended periods of time.
The position will sometimes involve working in the office, with potential need to go into a laboratory environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection (varies based on tasks), and shoe covers.
