Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This Application Support Manager position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Information Technology Services. This position plans, coordinates, and oversees the activities of multiple Application Support Teams in the design, development, quality control, and implementation of organizational information systems and software application. The Application Support Manager is also responsible for the maintenance, support, and upgrades of existing systems and applications, and guides Application Support Teams on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems.

The Application Support Manager must coordinate the efforts of their team to attain a unified, seamless integration of data and stable systems for the Agency and coordinate their efforts with other managers in the Office of IT Services to make sure work is conducted efficiently and productively. This position is expected to provide effective leadership to their assigned work unit, providing priority outcomes, performance feedback, timely performance reviews, coaching and counseling, discipline, and development opportunities as well as leading by example. The Application Support Manager also plays a significant role in forming the information technology strategy and direction of the agency.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and five years of experience in information systems and analysis
• OR Seven years of experience in information systems and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Successful experience leading an information technology team, overseeing application development activities and staff, managing customer relationships, making presentations, and taking on tough challenges.
• Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures and lifecycle models.
• A solid understanding of the .Net platform and tools.
Necessary Special Requirements:
• Must be able to pass a KBI background check.
