About the Cancer Institute:

The mission of the Cancer Institute is to deliver a single standard of coordinated cancer care that respects patient values, is scalable and sustainable in a value-based health economy, and contributes generalizable solutions to national healthcare challenges in oncology. The institute’s activities span oncologic patient care, post-graduate medical education, and research across Connecticut. Annually they see 7,000 analytic cancer cases representative of the state population with about 20% comprising vulnerable populations where health inequities are barriers to care. The communities they serve range from urban to suburban to rural. As a healthcare system that treats one-third of the state population, HHC provides an ideal setting to study population health.
