Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AI Solutions Architect to lead a team and spearhead the development and deployment of AI-driven automation that streamlines all aspects of the business at Kind Lending. This role involves building AI-driven solutions that enhance loan processing, helping brokers and internal users work faster and more efficiently, with fewer resources. You will lead the technical architecture and delivery of AI and machine learning initiatives, including developing and managing interactive chatbot systems that improve customer experience and internal operations.

Pay Disclosure:
The starting base salary range for this position is $160,000 – $195,000 annually. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Responsibilities:
• Lead AI/ML Initiatives: Architect, develop, and optimize chatbot LLMs to handle loan processing tasks and improve customer interactions.
• Automate Workflows: Implement downstream automations for brokers and internal teams, streamlining loan processes to boost productivity.
• Model Development: Train, fine-tune, and deploy machine learning models that adapt to changing business needs and evolving loan products.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to translate business needs into AI-driven solutions.
• Build Scalable Solutions: Ensure AI models and automations are scalable, secure, and integrated with Kind Lending’s internal systems.
• Data Management: Oversee the ingestion, preprocessing, and management of large datasets necessary for training ML models.
• AI Governance & Ethics: Ensure ethical use of AI models, including bias detection, data privacy, and transparency in decision-making processes.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends in AI, machine learning, and NLP (natural language processing) to incorporate advancements into the platform.
Competencies:
• Experience: 7+ years in software engineering with at least 3 years focused on machine learning and AI/LLM systems, ideally in a financial or lending environment.
• Machine Learning: Expertise in building, training, and deploying machine learning models, particularly in NLP and LLMs like GPT-3, GPT-4, or similar.
• Automation & AI Integration: Proven experience with integrating ML models into business processes, including workflow automation.
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other machine learning libraries.
• Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines for ML.
• Data Science: Strong background in data wrangling, feature engineering, and using large datasets for model training.
• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills in managing technical teams and driving AI-focused projects from inception to deployment.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with chatbot frameworks and conversational AI tools.
• Familiarity with mortgage processes, Loan Origination Systems (LOS), and the lending ecosystem is highly recommended.
• Knowledge of MLOps and scaling machine learning models in production environments.
• Expertise in using AI for compliance monitoring and risk mitigation in financial services.
• Hands-on experience with API development and system integrations.
Education:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in AI/ML.
Work Authorization:
Must be able to verify identity and employment eligibility to work in the U.S. without a visa sponsorship.
