Field Service Technician

Aegis Worldwide is currently partnered with a leading manufacturer of foundry equipment and machines. These Field Service Technicians will be responsible for carrying out service calls from the various customers in the US, and overseas. They have about 1,800 machines in operation out in the field that need somewhat frequent service work, keeping the service department very busy
Day-to-day responsibilities:
· Travel to Job Sites: Technicians often travel to various locations to perform their duties. This could involve visiting client sites, equipment locations, or other facilities.
· Installations: Setting up and installing new equipment or systems. This could involve following detailed instructions and ensuring everything is set up according to specifications.
· Maintenance and Repairs: Performing regular maintenance checks and repairs on equipment or systems. This could involve diagnosing issues, replacing faulty parts, or performing system updates.
· Customer Service: Interacting with clients to understand their issues, provide explanations of the work being done, and offer advice on equipment use and maintenance. Good communication skills are crucial here.
· Troubleshooting: Diagnosing problems with equipment or systems and finding solutions. This might involve using specialized tools and software to identify and fix issues.
· Documentation: Keeping detailed records of service performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. This is important for both tracking performance and for customer billing purposes.
· Inventory Management: Managing and maintaining an inventory of tools, parts, and equipment. This might involve ordering new parts or tools as needed and keeping track of usage.
· Compliance: Ensuring that all work is done in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. This includes wearing proper safety gear and following safe work practices.
· Training and Updates: Staying current with new technologies and equipment. This may involve attending training sessions or workshops to keep skills and knowledge up to date.
Requirements:
Must have:
· HS Diploma needed
· 1 year of experience working in heavy industry.
· Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience
o Inputs, outputs, and understanding of ladder logic.
o Needs to be able to monitor logic, but they won’t be expected to get into the program and make edits.
· Able to read electrical schematics
· Able to read mechanical blueprints
· Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting experience
· Customer facing experience
· Driver’s license & passport (or ability to get a passport)
Nice to have:
· Foundry experience
· Technical Education
o 2-year degree, or bachelor's degree
