Position Overview :
This position provides a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact on our Environmental monitoring and occupational safety report project.
We are seeking a technologically literate professional, curious about new technologies, who is great at working on teams.
Ultimately, you are responsible for translating our customer and company needs into functional, intuitive and appealing interactive features.
First week : Learn the ins and outs of RHI’s Environmental Monitoring division & get to know the team.
First month : Familiarize yourself with the project’s scope, development process and start working on it.
Responsibilities :
• Develop and maintain all server-side network components.
• Ensure optimal performance and responsiveness to front-end requests.
• Collaborate with front-end developers on the integration of elements.
• Design customer-facing UI and back-end services for various business processes.
• Develop high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code.
• Implement effective security protocols, data protection measures, and storage solutions.
• Run diagnostic tests, repairing defects, and providing technical support.
• Document processes, including database schemas, as well as preparing reports.
• Recommend and implement improvements to processes and technologies.
• Stay informed of advancements in the field of Node.js development.
• Develop visually appealing front end website architecture, including translating designer mock-ups & wireframes into front-end code.
• Design user interactions on web pages.
• Develop functional databases, applications, and servers to support websites on the back end.
• Develop and design RESTful services and APIs.
• Stay abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
• Strategize organizational direction on emerging technology platforms & communicate the effectiveness to executive stakeholders.
• Stay current & provide insight on cutting edge software approaches, architectures, vendors.
• Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are considered when architecting solutions.
Skills :
• Strong foundations and coding skills in JavaScript.
• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript web stacks, libraries, frameworks like ReactJS & NodeJS.
• Experience with RESTful architecture.
• Great database design and SQL skills.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3.
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).
• Familiarity with common software development and management tools such as Git, Jira, etc.
• Good understanding of common programming paradigms and architectural design patterns.
• Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Availability to resolve urgent web application issues outside of business hours.
Preferred :
• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging middleware (MQTT).
• Experience with docker.
• Experience with testing frameworks.
Required :
At least 3 or more years of working experience
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science or other related fields
