The Tax Analyst role in RGA requires corporate tax accounting experience, and is responsible to maintain tax accounting for assigned companies including GAAP and local reporting, preparing corporate tax returns, supporting planning and related reports to ensure organization compliance with tax laws and regulations, and ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely tax compliance preparation and reporting.

Responsibilities include
• Prepares and analyzes assigned monthly and quarterly tax accruals for domestic and foreign jurisdictions consistent with the rules and interpretations under ASC 740 and other bases of accounting.
• Prepare the US GAAP accrual for assigned companies for the planning and forecasting process.
• Compiles and analyzes accounting information and prepares federal and state income tax returns. Ensures compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Collaborates with other members of global tax to understand tax rules in local jurisdictions in order to properly report in US GAAP and local accounting basis.
• Prepares responses to requests for information from outside taxing authorities.
• Assists with analysis concerning tax planning opportunities as they affect RGA and client companies.
• Assists in implementation of process improvements
• Participates in the overall department internal control and compliance.
• Performs research, analysis and provides recommendations to tax policies and procedures.
• Maintain high degree of accuracy and adheres to tight deadlines.
• Maintains frequent contact with management and staff associates in finance, valuation, and administration to facilitate accomplishment of department objectives.

Requirements Include:

Education and Experience

Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience
• 4-7 years accounting experience with 3+ years in tax accounting

Skills and Abilities

Required:
• Proficient Excel and Query/Pivot table skills
• Basic Word skills
• Intermediate skills in the application of ASC 740-10
• Ability and willingness to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.

Compensation Range:
$74,150.00 - $105,295.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
