Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Social Media Assistant for the School of Nursing.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
• Helps develop and implement social media strategies and tactics to increase brand awareness and engage with key audiences, including prospective and current students, faculty, and staff, as well as alumni and other supporters.
• Conceptualizes, schedules, creates, and posts relevant content, including written posts, photos/images, stories, short-form videos, and infographics.
• Be the social media pro as they interact with followers, answer DMs and comments, track and report on metrics, and continually learn and apply leading-edge practices to help grow the social channels.
• Covers special events and programs and write website content such as news stories, blog posts, and feature articles.
• Interacts with students, faculty, and staff across our school as you gather info and content ideas.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, digital marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
• Two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Experience writing for PR, marketing/advertising, journalism, and or websites, is a major plus.
• Experience as a social media specialist, content creator, or similar role.
• Some photography/videography experience is welcome; video and photo editing a strong plus.
• Experience with social posting platforms such as Sprout, or Hootsuite.
• Some familiarity with the Adobe suite and Canva.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
• Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
• Social media knowledge with some experience, beyond personal accounts.
• Requires good eye for photos and graphic design.
• Requires good organizational and planning skills.
