About the role:
DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Cost Analyst for the Finance division. The Staff Cost Analyst supports the Finance department with all staff cost and payroll functions. The Staff Cost Analyst will be responsible for managing and overseeing payroll functions, compliance with all payroll regulations, and financial reporting related to payroll. The Staff Cost Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial planning and analysis team, responsible for providing detailed cost analysis and reporting to support decision-making across the organization. This position involves gathering and analyzing financial data related to departmental budgets, operational expenses, and project costs. The Analyst will collaborate with various departments to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance financial efficiency. The Staff Cost Analyst will contribute to strategic initiatives by identifying trends and variances in costs, providing insights and recommendations to management. This role is critical in ensuring that the organization meets its financial goals while maintaining operational effectiveness.
Essential Functions:
• Coordinate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate data for payroll processing
• Maintain accurate payroll records, reconcile payroll accounts, and journal entries
• Review gross to net payroll reports, record general ledger activity, and reconcile ledger to payroll reporting
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Manage tax filings and payments, ensuring timely and accurate submission of payroll taxes
• Monitor all employee 401K and HSA accounts and book journal entries as needed
• Monitor and initiate payment of all healthcare related invoices
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving cost processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
• Budget Preparation: Assist in the development and preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Assist in audits
• Assisting the Corporate Finance team as needed
Job Requirements (education, experience, skills):
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5-6 years of payroll accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and labor laws
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
