Business Title: Embedded Software Engineer – C/C++ experience

Location: Raleigh, NC

Job Type: 3+ months contract

Job Responsibilities:

Design and development of embedded software for the legacy and new generation of the medical device (C and C++)

Responsible for design and development of software tools to support manufacturing the medical device (C, C# and C++)

Write software requirements for the host application and software tools

Provide design input for GUI of system software

Ensure FDA compliance of all software and potential Web-based application

Responsible for design, development and implementation of cybersecurity control methods meeting FDA NIST standards for host application software, firmware, and sub-systems

Perform software testing against the requirements on the medical device and emulator

Perform software unit testing

Perform Static Analysis, Profiling, and Debugging on user facing software

Responsible for making observations, taking measurement using laboratory equipment and tools, data processing, statistical analysis and carrying out test protocols

Responsible for testing, system software debugging and troubleshooting the software (Visual Studio)

Responsible for supporting software engineering product development from prototype through verification. Work with software test and quality teams in preparing test cases, plans and procedures

Assist the software team to drive innovation in software development

Approach to working technical issues that supports a schedule-oriented mindset and work ethic

Design reviews, forms processing for software releases, documentation, other as assigned

Skills & Experience required:

Software design and integration, use of repositories to support phased in delivery in block release format of features and bug fixes

Software test and release strategies and execution of controlled software

Previous experience with or willingness to learn documentation methods per SOP and regulatory requirements

Ability to work effectively in team environment with both internal and design partners

Demonstrated ability and desire to meet milestone achievements by whatever means

Assume positive intent of and from others on the team

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

Minimum 10+ years of software development with embedded devices

Proficiency in development tools used with C++ and C: Microsoft Visual Studio

Proficient with writing advanced C++ code for complex system, Microsoft .NET framework environment, Windows based GUI application development, such as MFC, MVVM.

Proficient writing software with SQL databases

Proficient writing software with Qt / QML

Proficient writing software with Windows 10 Operating System

Programming skills in a human-safety-critical environment

Design experience with real-time systems, state machines and standard Windows applications

Experience designing and running unit tests

Experience integrating real-time systems and a Windows Host application
