Our Senior Estate Planner role within the Estate Services Department offers the best of both worlds when it comes to estate planning, the ability to use your knowledge to educate others while freeing yourself of billable hours. We are looking for someone just as passionate about estate planning as we are, we believe that all clients should feel peace of mind with respect to their wishes being honored through their estate plan. That’s where you come in, your role would involve reviewing existing estate plans for firm clients, meeting with firm clients to discuss the particulars of their estate plan, and being a resource to advisors throughout the firm. Someone who succeeds in a fast-paced environment with the ability to coordinate and communicate with multiple parties (e.g., firm clients, advisors, and other team members) will thrive in this role. Salary Range: $165,000 - $180,000 plus annual bonus

Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance to clients on estate tax planning, wealth and business succession planning, charitable planning, trust tax planning, and assist in the preparation of estate review presentations.
• Participate in internal strategy discussions for clients, involving collaboration with advisor teams and planning departments to address client needs.
• Collaborate with advisor teams to ensure clients goals/objectives are being meet as pertains to the estate planning or charitable needs, be a resource during trust administration.
• Identify strategic partners in attorneys or law firms to establish relationships with to draft appropriate documents including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives for EP Wealth clients.
• Prepare all estate reviews for clients. This will include reading and reviewing documents, preparing a summary for clients, and presenting that summary in client meetings with advisors and financial planners.
• Conduct training sessions for the firm and planning team as needed.
• Identify strategic partners to assist in the preparation advanced estate planning and charitable planning documents (ie. Charitable foundations and trusts; Marital agreements; Business continuation planning; Guardianships/conservatorships; Medicaid/Medicare trust planning).
• Publicly represent the Estate Services Department through participation in firm marketing initiatives, including client and prospective client seminars, writing articles and blogs, and other activities.
• Coordinate with the financial planning department to illustrate estate planning concepts in our financial planning software as part of the financial plan delivery.
• Collaborate with the financial planning department on estate planning recommendations that require outside coordination with items such as the following, but not limited to: Life insurance illustrations, Business valuations, Donor advised funds, Buy-sell arrangements and funding, Business entity structure set up, Pre and post nuptial agreements, and Special needs trusts.
• Perform additional functions, duties, and specific tasks of a similar nature as necessary in order to achieve the firm’s business development and client retention objectives.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures and perform business functions with focus on consistency, quality, and compliance.

Qualifications
• Minimum eight years of relationship management experience counseling high net worth clients on estate planning.
• Juris Doctor, CA licensure mandatory, WA or OR licensure a plus, LLM in tax or estate planning a plus.
• Knowledge of Number Cruncher a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM software.
• Efficient and effective written and oral communication skills.
• Experience and willingness to participate in public speaking events and prospect meetings.
• Extremely detail-oriented, exceptional follow thorough, reliable.
• Ability to maintain positive attitude, self-motivated, ethically sound judgement.
• Excellent client relations skills with ability to apply problem solving skills, and communicate solutions to clients.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with all levels of the firm and within a collaborative environment.
• Ability to work independently and exercise discretion without direct and immediate supervision
