Data Modeling and Business Intelligence Engineer

We are looking for a talented and experienced Data Modeling and Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data models, data governance frameworks, and interactive dashboards and visualizations to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and provide self-service analytics and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain data models and schemas for data sources.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a centralized data warehouse architecture.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure alignment between data models and the underlying data infrastructure.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain data quality.
• Implement data quality controls, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Build interactive dashboards and visualizations to present key metrics and insights.
• Develop self-service analytics and reporting capabilities.
• Conduct enterprise-wide data discovery and profiling to identify potential data sources.
• Analyze data sources for relevance, quality, and potential integration into the BI ecosystem.
• Provide training and support to business users, ensuring effective adoption and utilization of BI solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging BI technologies, tools, and best practices.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab.
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with relevant experience.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
• Experience in data mining, ETL, and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
