Ivy Road Prep was found in 2013. We have been helping students from 1st grade to 12th grade to advance and achieve their academic goals. Here at Ivy Road Prep, the students are offered challenging courses taught by dedicated instructors with years of experience or pure passion. We offer one on one (tutoring)/ Class of five students/ Class of ten and fifteen/ teaching subjects such as SAT/ SAT II /High School Regents Exam - (Earth/Environmental Science/Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/Math/English)/ SHSAT/Gifted and Talent (K~2)/ Grade 3-12 Enrichment Classes(Reading & Writing/ Math)/ AMC Math Competition/ Math Olympiad Contest/ College Computer Science (eg. Java) / AP and pretty much any class that the parents request.
Ivy Road Prep was founded to ensure the academic future of students who need high-quality test prep, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Ivy League Prep is looking for part-time tutors/ teachers to join our instruction team. We look for tutors/teachers who are intelligent, charismatic, and devoted to helping students of all backgrounds achieve academic success.
The Opportunity
Even though we prefer teachers with at least one year teaching experience, we are willing to train talented candidate with potential to become great teacher who is able to take on teaching task. We even welcome college student with any major, as long as he/she has a passion for teaching.
Requirements:
• Currently going to College near New York Queens area.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• Master degree preferred but not required
• Certified teachers preferred but not required
• Have a desire to teach
• Prior teaching/tutoring experience is preferred
• Experienced teacher with class management skill is preferred
• SAT minimum score requirements: Math - 600 (700 after our training)/ Reading - 600 (700 after our training)/ Writing - 600 (700 after our training)
• Excellent presentation skills and oral/communication skills appropriate/relevant to test type and students
• Ability to create appropriate humor to keep the student’s attention when needed is a plus
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Access to reliable transportation
• Available to start immediately for training if needed
• Knowledge base of the SAT/SHSAT/GMAT is a plus
• Minimum 3 months commitment
• Ability to teach one of the following schedules beginning from 9/8/2022:
Working Period: 9/8/22~6/27/23
Monday to Friday (3:00pm to 6:00pm or 6:00pm~8:00pm or both sessions)/ or Saturday/ Sunday (9:30am ~ 12:30pm or 1:30pm~4:30pm or both sessions)
Summer School: (Monday ~ Friday 9:30am~12:30am) (1:30pm to 4:30pm) or Both sessions
