They ensure areas of a building are sanitary, orderly and free of trash and debris. Must learn proper use of equipment and chemicals to avoid harming floors, fixtures, and themselves. Job Responsibilities: Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax and polish office floors, carpets, hallways and stairs. Dust furniture and fixtures. Clean walls, windows, blinds, mirrors, ceilings, and light fixtures. Disinfect commonly used items like door handles, office tools and phones. Empty trash and recycling bins. Stock and maintain supply rooms. Perform minor repairs on machinery, equipment and tools. Clean and maintain restrooms. Move cabinets, boxes, furniture and other equipment to clean areas.
