A Quick Overview Of This Position
We are currently seeking applications for our part-time HR Assistant & Pet Sitter position at our Des Moines office! This role combines aspects of both administration and pet care. Day-to-day tasks include assisting our HR and admin team in an office setting, and providing client services such as dog walking and pet sitting in the field as needed. If you get bored easily or prefer a workday with variety, this may be the job for you! Anyone with a background in HR who also enjoys daily interaction with dogs, cats, and other pets is encouraged to apply!
Extensive training is provided for this position. As this role assists Frolic's HR team in hiring and training staff, your training will cover multiple positions within the company. Candidates must have a passion for pets, and will be trained to handle animals of different sizes, breeds, and behaviors in addition to various administrative and operative tasks.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate HR and hiring related duties with Frolic's HR and Admin teams.
• Create and update online job postings.
• Review applications, respond to candidates, and conduct interviews (via email, phone, video, or in person).
• Assist in onboarding and training of new employees.
• Help ensure the company's policies, practices, documents, and staff remain in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Participate in HR related projects, evaluations, and processes.
• Communicate with the Frolic team and clients via phone, email, online chat and in person.
• Assist the Office team with projects, daily operations, client profile management, scheduling, and last minute or emergency requests as needed.
• Provide pet sitting & dog walking and services at clients' homes including cleaning, feeding, walking, playing, petting, brushing, pet waste clean-up, light housekeeping, medication administration, etc.
• Be able to keep an attentive eye out for potential issues or problems; provide overall quality care in relation to health and safety of all the pets we work with.
• Be available to act as emergency backup to other team members during scheduled working hours in case of last-minute schedule changes or call-outs.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Willingness and ability to perform both the administrative and pet care related aspects of this position is required.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of Human Resources experience highly preferred.
• Experience working with pets (professionally or personally) preferred.
• Experience with administrative technology (email, spreadsheets, typing, recordkeeping, etc.) required.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills (via phone, email, and in-person) required.
• Valid driver's license and exclusive access to a reliable & insured vehicle required.
• Reliable smartphone with data package, messaging, GPS, email, phone, and camera required. (Good battery life or an external battery charger is recommended.)
• Self-motivated and able to stay on task with little or no supervision.
• Able to consistently and repetitively walk, kneel, squat, bend, lift, push, pull, grasp, and balance while walking/caring for pets.
• Able to walk 60 consecutive minutes at a moderate to fast pace in all weather, and lift 60lbs+ from ground to table (for example: lifting a dog from ground into a car) when necessary.
• Possess a high level of patience, calm demeanor, and problem-solving attitude.
• Extreme attention to detail regarding written instructions and pet health. We have a responsibility to keep the pets and clients that depend on us safe and happy by following directions!
• For the safety of our clients and staff, we require full & up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC.
Compensation
• $20 to $22/hr starting, depending on qualifications and experience.
• 60% of what we bill the client when providing "Stand Alone" services; individual client service appointments that take place outside of regular consecutiv
