The Main Responsibilities

Lumen’s Enterprise Operations organization is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst intern on our Carrier Relations Digital Transformation & BI team. The intern will be responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI reports to support business intelligence and data analysis needs. This role involves working closely with various departments to understand their reporting requirements, ensuring data accuracy, and providing actionable insights through visualizations. Additionally, the intern will perform data clean-up tasks to ensure data integrity and consistency across systems.

Other responsibilities of intern will include:

1. **Creating Power BI Reports**: Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements. This includes connecting to various data sources, transforming data, and creating visualizations that provide meaningful insights.
2. **Enhancing Existing Reports**: Review and improve existing Power BI reports by adding new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring they meet the evolving needs of stakeholders.
3. **Monitoring Report Performance**: Regularly monitor the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure they are running efficiently. Identify and resolve any issues related to data refreshes, loading times, and visualization errors.
4. **Data Clean-Up**: Perform data clean-up tasks to ensure data accuracy and consistency. This includes identifying and correcting data discrepancies, removing duplicates, and standardizing data formats.
5. **Collaborating with Stakeholders**: Work closely with various departments to gather reporting requirements, provide training on Power BI usage, and ensure that reports meet their needs. This involves regular communication and collaboration to understand their data needs and provide solutions

What We Look For in a Candidate

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment of the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.
• Required qualifications
o Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or graduate level education status at the start of the internship
o Graduating August 2025 – May 2027
o Preferred fields include but not limited to: – Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems.
o Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 – August 8, 2025)
• Proficiency and understanding of:
o MS Office Suite – Excel heavy
o Data Reporting and Dashboard tools like Microsoft Power BI
o Familiarity with Data Transformation and Modeling using Power Query and DAX.
o Data Management: Strong understanding of data management principles, including data cleaning, data integration, and data validation techniques
• Preferred qualifications
o Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights
o Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools is a plus.
o Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and development.
o Ability to translate technical information into non-technical terms
o Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues related to data accuracy, report performance, and user req
