As a Mechanical Designer, you will support all aspects of the mechanical design architecture of our instrument product development from conception to product launch release. This includes mechanical layouts and design of electronic enclosures, EIA racks and frames, electronic packaging, power management cabling, and cooling solutions. You will be developing Design Verification and Validation test methods, executing tests, and writing reports necessary for new product release launches. Skills
• Proficient in SolidWorks CAD.
• Strong experience in creating detail drawings for cable assemblies, wire harnesses, or sheet metal and machined parts.
• Familiarity with various materials and fabrication methods such as sheet metal fabrication, machining, die-casting, and thermal-forming.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
• Hands-on experience in designing, prototyping, and testing components and assemblies.
Responsibilities
• Support the mechanical design and release documentation of new instrumentation product lines by designing electro-mechanical components, parts, and assemblies.
• Design and validate designs per User Requirements to meet performance, cost, compliance, and manufacturability targets.
• Create and maintain Design History Files, including detail drawings, specifications, assembly drawings, Bill-of-Materials, and manufacturing documents.
• Lead product design to meet intended use and ensure performance of engineering analyses to drive design decisions.
• Verify product performance against design inputs, write verification protocols, perform testing, and analyze test data.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in designing electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Hands-on experience in designing sheet metal enclosures or control panels.
• Strong experience in creating detail drawings for various components.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
