Alaska Marine Lines is seeking a motivated individual to evaluate, analyze, and develop market-based pricing for contracts and tariffs. They will also need to demonstrate a firm grasp of company operations, rating principles and knowledge of market conditions to make and authorize pricing decisions. Additionally, they will provide rating guidance to Customer Service and Sales. This is not a safety sensitive position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conducts market research and gathers competitive market intelligence that impacts and supports business goals and market pricing.
Lead analysis and develop pricing related proposals, bids, quotations, RFP responses.
Negotiate rates and agreements with customers for whom the Pricing Analyst is the primary contact.
Evaluate, analyze, and propose contract pricing.
Analyze requests for changes to market pricing taking into consideration volume, competition, market impact; approve or propose alternatives as appropriate.
Conduct and implement annual contract reviews.
Work with Sales department to ensure adherence to Alaska Marine Lines’ pricing policy.
Translate customer provided materials listed into QuotePro for bidding and analysis.
Develop and maintain customer contracts.
Develop tariff commodity rates.
Ensure consistency of applied market pricing in adherence with Alaska Marine Lines’ pricing policy.
Review, approve and/or update Customer Service quotes.
Provide training and guidance for Customer Service.
Maintain historical pricing data on the organization and its competitors.
Coordinate and communicate pricing information.
Ability to draft tariff pages for review and approval, file tariff revisions with STB.
Audit TariffTrak rating.
TariffTrak software proficient.
QuotePro software proficient.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to meet a regular work schedule.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet schedules/deadlines.
Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position. Daily physical presence is required.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Must be flexible and adaptive to constant changes and be able to work in a high stress environment.
PC skills required: Windows, Excel, Outlook, keyboarding proficiency.
Ability to design, prepare, analyze, and work with complex spreadsheets.
Have thorough knowledge and understanding of company’s services in each geographic business region, principles of accounting, contracting, billing and documentation.
COMPENSATION: $85,000 to $110,000 annually - ***Depends on Experience
