My client, a digital-first provider of surety bonds and insurance solutions for businesses and government entities, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead their finance team based in New Jersey.
Role Overview:
This full-time, on-site position requires a CPA and will oversee all financial activities within the insurance company, ensuring compliance with statutory accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage accurate financial statements in accordance with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinate audits with external auditors.
• Oversee the general ledger, maintaining accuracy and compliance with GAAP and statutory standards.
• Lead the accounting department, providing training and strategic financial advice to the leadership team.
• Collaborate on annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against targets.
Qualifications:
• CPA designation with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of SAP, GAAP, and NAIC requirements.
• Excellent leadership and analytical skills with a focus on detail.
