Position Title: SaaS Product Director
The Product Director is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of SaaS products. This role is a key player in shaping and executing our growth strategy in the life science industry, with a significant influence on our future offerings. It's a role of great impact and influence, requiring strong organizational, communication and presentation skills, customer-oriented thinking, and the ability to balance multiple priorities and projects. As a thought leader for SaaS go-to-market strategy, you will be integral to our company's future success.
The Product Director's role is not just about leading and developing the portfolio of services to support the product line. Its a versatile role that offers numerous opportunities for personal growth, with interfaces with many organizational functions and customers. Duties and Responsibilities
• Portfolio and roadmap work
• Developing and consolidating product roadmaps in cooperation with market segments
• Creation and maintenance of competitive product offerings
• Establishing product differentiation, positioning, and argumentation
• Working with Service organizations to ensure the ability to deliver offers
• Product creation
• Product owner role and active participation in product creation projects in your field
• Business model development for SaaS products
• Ability to create and provide a profitable business model
• Product launches in cooperation with marketing
• Create customer-focused products directly tied to current and future customer requirements from focus groups, forums, and industry trends.
• Product maintenance
• Product profitability and quality follow-up
• Manage and develop standardized annual contracts for technical support and maintenance plans.
• Engineering work prioritization
• Product Ramp-down
• Marketing
• Creation of crucial product marketing messages
• Ensuring correctness of marketing material in VaLogic media
• Participate with the group for strategy development to guide the new services business models.
• Service Product pricing
• Creation of pricing models that fit the new Service offerings
• Sales support and product training
• Oversee the production of training programs/videos/self-learning.
Qualities and Skills
• Education and Experience
• BEng, BA, or BS in a life or engineering science; Masters Degree or MBA
• Minimum seven years of direct life science service customer interactions; sales experience a plus
• Solid knowledge of GxP software validation; ability to understand and discuss GxP project requirements for critical accounts
• Experience with new enabling technologies a plus (SaaS, AWS Hosting)
• Managing/Developing supporting teams and additional roles for the complete product life cycle
• Skills and Abilities
• Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive leadership
• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional team in a matrix organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication
