Organization: SDMC-Sutter Delta Medical Center Position Overview: The Pharmacy Technician is a support person to the pharmacist and department. The incumbent also contributes specialized skills in medication preparation and distribution while considering the standards of practice and pharmacy regulations. Job Description: EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience Other: College course work concentrated in science CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE PHARMT-Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire PHARMC-Certified Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: Previous experience as hospital pharmacy technician is desired. Completion of a recognized technician training program. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Working knowledge of a hospital pharmacy is desired. Ability to read and interpret physician orders and prepare medications for pharmacists. Ability to maintain adequate stock for all medications stocked within the pharmacy. Use of sterile technique for sterile compounding. Familiar with medical terminology and pharmaceutical product names. Demonstrated ability to work with others. Knowledge/Skills related to age-specific needs of patient. Job Shift: Varied Schedule: Per Diem/Casual Shift Hours: 8 Days of the Week: Variable Weekend Requirements: Every other Weekend Benefits: No Unions: Yes Position Status: Non-Exempt Weekly Hours: 0 Employee Status: Per Diem/Casual Number of Openings: 1 This position may regularly work, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drug(s) identified as hazardous, or potentially hazardous, by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800. Pay Range is $32.01 to $40.19 / hour The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
