I own a pastry business focused on a single product, along with coffee, and we’re looking to bring together five years of sales data, future sales projections, and industry benchmarks for wages, COGS, and overheads into a cohesive forecasting system.
Most of the sheets are already built and functional; they just need to be connected, streamlined, and polished into a single, easy-to-use tool.
Key Objectives:
Data Integration: Combine various sheets into one comprehensive tool, integrating past sales, future projections, and operational metrics.
Forecasting & Production Planning: Create weekly and monthly sales forecasts, with a detailed breakdown of required production levels to meet sales targets.
Balance Forecasting: Enable day-specific forecasting of the account balance, showing the projected amount based on future cash inflows and outflows.
Simple Roster Builder: Develop a straightforward tool to assist in building weekly staff rosters, connected to labor needs and costs.
Benchmarking: Build in benchmarks to ensure alignment with industry standards for costs and overheads.
Dynamic Variables: Include external data (e.g., weather patterns, public holidays) to refine and adapt projections based on external factors.
Labor & Ingredient Tracking: Incorporate existing cost breakdowns for labor, hours, and ingredients based on production volume.
User-Friendly Interface: Ensure the tool is easy to read and navigate, with a clear, intuitive layout for quick insights and efficient daily use.
Experience Required:
Strong Excel expertise, with experience in financial forecasting, dynamic dashboards, and data integration.
Familiarity with KPI tracking
Ability to incorporate external data sources into Excel (e.g., connecting to APIs for weather data).
Proven ability to create user-friendly, visually clear tools that simplify complex data for efficient, day-to-day use.
